Membership cards connected to the people in your database.

Give members a card for Apple Wallet or Google Wallet and prepare a printed version when needed. Manage templates, eligible contacts, and validity together in campai.

Design the information members carry with them.

Create a pass template and choose Wallet, Print, or both. Use the editor to arrange the available fields and appearance. Contact information can appear on each card without designing a separate layout for every member.

Check the preview with both short and long names. For printed cards, also review the selected card format. Wallet passes and physical cards use different spaces, so inspect each design even when they share the same contact information and template settings.

Choose who should receive each pass.

Select the template’s contact type and, when needed, the relevant segments. This lets you offer a pass to a defined group of members. Review the selection before publishing: an eligible member should be included, while an unrelated contact should remain outside it.

Publishing creates passes for matching contacts. The issued-pass list gives you a place to review those records and handle follow-up questions. Eligibility changes and external wallet updates are processed through the corresponding update workflows.

Manage wallet and printed versions together.

Members receive an installation path for their wallet pass and can save it in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. Available issue and installation information helps your team identify the relevant pass when a member needs assistance.

For printed cards, prepare the output and mark passes as printed when that step is complete. Validity settings belong to the template and issued pass. Review them for time-limited memberships and before preparing a larger card run so the selected dates fit your intended use.

Set up your first membership card

Start with a clearly defined member group. Check its design and eligibility before using the template for a wider audience.

  1. Choose how members will use it

Decide whether members need a wallet pass, a printed card, or both. List the information the card should display and create the corresponding pass template. Keep the content focused on its intended use.

  2. Review each design

Arrange the member name, membership number, logo, and other required information in the editor. Check the preview and legibility. Inspect the wallet layout and print format separately when your template includes both.

  3. Check eligibility and validity

Choose the contact type and any segments that define recipients. Review the validity settings. Compare an eligible contact with one outside the intended group to check that the selection matches your plan.

  4. Publish and prepare distribution

Publish the template and review the issued passes. Send the wallet access information or prepare printed output. Use the issued records to follow distribution and answer later questions about the card.

Example: A wallet card with a printed option

You want active members to have a digital card and to provide a printed alternative to members who do not use a wallet. Both versions use the selected template and the member’s contact record.

A membership card displays the information you configure. Any separate entitlement, such as access to a facility, needs its own supported setup and checking process.

Frequently asked questions

Does campai support Apple Wallet and Google Wallet?

Yes. Digital passes can be provided for Apple Wallet and Google Wallet. Wallet passes must be available in your subscription. Printed cards use the corresponding print design and output workflow.

Do I need to design a card for each member?

No. Create a pass template for the eligible contacts. Member-specific details come from the associated record, so you can use a consistent design without rebuilding the layout for each person.

Can I limit a pass to a particular member group?

Yes. The template uses a contact type and can be limited further with segments. Review the eligible contacts before publishing and whenever you change the conditions defining those segments.

Can members have digital and printed cards?

Yes. Choose Wallet, Print, or both as the template’s output. Review both designs because wallet passes and printed cards have different layouts. A print status helps your team follow the physical-card workflow.

Will a change appear instantly in every wallet?

External wallet updates run in the background. A device may therefore display an earlier state for a time after a change in campai. Use the current issued-pass record and the appropriate validation process when checking eligibility.
