The challenge
Our reading-support work in Hesse, Germany, is run entirely by volunteers. Before campai, our software made it difficult to manage member records and welcome new mentors.
The tools were cumbersome, and keeping information organized was a challenge. Managing small monthly charges for the digital reading app, supporting memberships, and donations did not work as we needed it to.
Finding a workable system
When we found campai, we appreciated the team’s willingness to listen. They worked with us on improvements that made our administration easier.
Our treasurer, Stefan Kaufmann, says: “Switching to campai’s online system was the turning point for us.”
We could manage member records and payments more effectively. The flexibility of the software helped us adapt our processes and save time. Tags were particularly useful for organizing members internally.
We also value being able to ask the campai team for help when questions or problems arise.
What we would still like to improve
As a small organization, we see opportunities for additional integrations and features. We want improvements to remain practical for teams with limited resources.
One example in our original account was donation acknowledgment paperwork. The available digital workflow did not fit everything we needed, and we wanted a simpler document that we could prepare, print, and send ourselves.
Our experience
At the time of this account, we had worked with campai for more than three years. We appreciate the team’s attention to the needs of small organizations.
Because our work depends on volunteers, the time saved in administration matters. It allows us to put more of our effort into helping children read.
